Solstice, LLC  in cooperation with A-TCAA Central Sierra Connect has released the crowd-sourcing module for public input. Our goal is to make the most accurate map in our region representing broadband speed. This will ultimately help us determine broadband aggregation in our five county region (Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Mariposa & Tuolumne) This module was built upon the Google maps API and data is stored into a mySQL table for further analysis. All personal data is kept confidential, our goal is to validate the existing broadband speed map with your public input.

As a part of the ATCCA/Central Sierra Connect team, Solstice Geospatial LLC is in Redding, CA attending a two day Rural Connections workshop which is addressing the successes and needs of rural communities with respect to broadband access. Solstice is responsible for coordinating the broadband infrastructure mapping and providing GIS analysis for the five county project.

Check out the great live-blog Shannon is writing at http://www.centralsierraconnect.org/ as I will be busy working with colleagues and other regions to address the mapping efforts going on in the other rural California regions.
